To serve blueberries to a baby who is 6 months old, it is important to follow the guidelines for introducing solid foods. Start by ensuring that the blueberries are ripe and soft enough for your baby to consume comfortably without any choking hazards. Begin by washing the blueberries thoroughly to remove any dirt or residue. Next, gently mash the blueberries with a fork, squish them between your fingers or blend them into a smooth puree, depending on your baby's preference and ability to handle textures. If you choose to serve a puree, you can mix it with breast milk or formula to achieve a smoother consistency. To make it more appealing, you can also combine the blueberries with other fruits like bananas. Always be present and attentive during mealtime, closely monitoring your baby for any signs of potential allergies or choking.

Ingredient information
Sliced bread - I have used a half and half sliced bread.
Egg - I have used a free range egg, I always use free range eggs in my recipes.
Milk/cream - I decided to use whole milk but you can use double cream if you wish.
Cinnamon - You could also add in a pinch of nutmeg too if you wish.
Blueberries - I squish the blueberries between my fingers, this is advised from 6 months old. Or you could purée.
Strawberries - The strawberries I have quartered, this is advised from 6 months old. You can also purée.
Greek yogurt - I decided to use Greek yogurt as my son loves it, but if you were serving as a dessert you could use whipped double cream.
Unsalted butter - This is great to fry the French toast.
Serving suggestion
You could serve this with other berries such as blackberries or loganberries, or even cooked apple or apple purée, if blueberries and raspberries are not your child favourite!
Instead of yogurt you could serve with a dollop of whipped double cream! It’s completely up to you!
Storage instructions
To store the French toast on its own without the berries and yogurt, you can keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can also reheat in a frying pan if you wish or enjoy cold is absolutely fine.
Equipment used to help with this recipe
Frying pan - I love the non-stick surface of this particular frying pan and it’s suitable for all types of hob.
Pyrex jug - A measuring jug is a must-have kitchen utensil and I like the glass Pyrex jugs hygiene and ease of cleaning. The measuring markers are easily readable too.
Airtight container - I much prefer the click-shut lids on these containers compared to others. They are also dishwasher and freezer safe and BPA free, so very suitable for food use.
