This peach open tart recipe is so delicious and easy to make!

If you and your little one love a pastry then this recipe is for you!

The sweetness of the peaches against the nuttiness of the hazelnut butter is so yummy!

I like to make recipes simple, which is why I have started with the ready rolled puff pastry. I have mentioned below but store own brand pastry is really good and you can purchase for a fraction of the cost.

I really wanted to give my toddler a pastry but most are packed full of sugar! I wanted to create a pastry that had no added sugar but that was equally as tasty as the store bought pastries.

I also like the fact that I can enjoy one of these pastries too with my son, It can be a mid morning snack or as part of a substantial dessert! A really versatile recipe that you can use when you need!

This recipe is Vegan and Dairy free too which is great if your little ones are following those diets.

This is such a delicious recipe that you must give a go!

    Ingredient information

Peaches - Peaches are great but I find it is really hard to find ripe peaches, and most likely have to peel them. This is why canned fruit is great, and great to have in the store cupboard. I have the fruit stored in fruit juice rather than the syrup as I do not want my toddler having too much sugar!

Puff Pastry - This is great ready rolled, if you use the supermarkets own brand, It is just as good as branded pastry and it is quite a bit cheaper.

Hazelnut butter - I love hazelnut butter and it actually works so nicely with the peaches, If you had a smooth peanut butter you could use that too!

Rolled oats - I like the fact the rolled oats finish the tarts off nicely and they are nutritious too!

Unsalted butter - You could use an egg wash if you wanted to or your butter or margarine of your choice.

    Serving suggestion

The peach tarts are a great treat on their own, or if you did want to serve them as part of a dessert you could serve with some plain natural frozen yogurt or a dollop of Greek style yogurt. You could also save the fruit juice from the can and drizzle a little over the tarts for extra sweetness if desired.

    Storage instructions

The peach tarts can be kept in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the fridge, or they can be frozen in airlock bags or containers for up to 3 months. You could make a large batch of the tarts and keep them in the freezer and bring them out when you need them!

Equipment used to help with this recipe

I know sometimes its difficult to find certain ingredients, which is why I buy the hazelnut butter here It is 100% hazelnut with no added sugar or salt so, perfect for baby led weaning.

I use a great baking sheet, which is non stick and cleans really easily.

I also use these great airtight containers to keep the pastries fresh in and out of the freezer.
