Baby Snacks For Baby-Led Weaning
These are so fun! Making plain yogurt fun.
Who remembers those fried egg sweets from the pic ‘n’ mix? This is what they remind me of!
I thought this homemade yogurt melts recipe would be super super easy to make with little error to go wrong and that’s the kind of recipes we all like! No added sugar too!
I have used a mango purée pouch for the “egg yolk” as I was only using a little amount! I thought this would be the perfect colour against the white yogurt to make sure it actually looked like a fried egg!
If you wanted to make the mango purée yourself, all you would need to do is blitz up a slice of peeled mango with a dash of water until smooth. Feel free to use other purees such as strawberry puree or blueberry puree.
Best Yogurt For Baby
I use full fat Greek yogurt for this recipe, if you use a fat free version there is more likely to be added sugars and sweeteners so the full fat version is definitely better for your little ones and for yourselves!
The benefits of yogurt that is full-fat yogurt provides essential fats that support healthy brain development in infants and toddlers. Look for options that contain live cultures, as these probiotics can aid in digestion and contribute to gut health.
Greek yogurt can also be a great choice due to its thick, creamy texture and higher protein content.
These are soo easy to make and your little ones will really enjoy them as a toddler snack in the summer sun, or as a dessert after dinner, even those picky eaters will enjoy them.
They are great for teething gums too!
Let me know what you think of these, I’d love to know!
Ingredient information
Natural style Greek yogurt - I mean it when I say this is an absolute staple in our home! The benefits are great! I only give my son regular yogurt as it is low in sugar and always enjoyed by him, great for these baby yogurt melts and that picky eater!
Mango purée - I love the fact that mango purée mirrors egg yolk so well! Works perfectly for this yogurt bites recipe from 6 months of age.
Serving suggestion
These can be served on their own as a fun snack outdoor garden snack! Or as part of a dessert after a main meal.
If you did want to serve them with anything, I would suggest some strawberries. If you leave the drops at room temperature for a few minutes they will be able to sit in a bowl with the strawberries and eaten with a spoon.
Other recipes you may like: Strawberry pudding, Mango lassi or Smoothie bowl.
Storage instructions
The drops are obviously best kept in the freezer as they are a freezer item.
They can be kept in the freezer for up to 3 months which is great!
Use an airtight container or freezer bag for storage. You could tightly wrap in cling film (plastic wrap) too.
Why not double the ingredients and you will have 16 drops ready to go in the freezer! Perfect!

Recipe notes
If you wanted to make this recipe a dairy-free yogurt for babies, I would highly recommend the Koko Greek yogurt, Cocos Organic natural yogurt or The Coconut Collab yogurt, these are the closest to whole milk yogurt! The coconut really complements the mango too! So win-win for an easy snack.
